Let me first say that I am humbled and honored to be elected the 24th Polemarch of the Chesapeake-Virginia Beach (VA) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. It is a position that I hold with the highest regard in terms of the expectations and responsibilities that come with it.

I want to thank the Immediate Past Polemarch Omar DeCosta Sr. for his steadfast leadership and attention to detail. Bro. DeCosta always championed the belief that brothers should check on other brothers to maintain our strong bond. In doing so, we hold true to the objectives of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

Most importantly, I need to thank my Silhouette, Kimberly, who has given me not only the encouragement and support to pursue this role of immense stature and responsibility, but also understands the time required to perform my duties as your Polemarch.

As to what to look for during this first year of this administration, we need to continue to harness the talents and skills within this award-winning chapter. Using these gifts and abilities to their fullest potential helps us to continue to lift uplift our communities, the way our founders intended. As Kappa men, one of our goals should be to strive to be a pillar of guidance for our youth and a shining example of goodwill in our communities.

I am truly excited about the possibilities of the ACHIEVEMENTS this chapter can accomplish. But I want to be clear, what we strive to do is not for recognition or awards. As Noble Kappa men of faith, it is what we are called to do, and we should do it so with distinction. Let’s get to work!
